During the Spring of 2016 I was approached about directing a series about ‘Life on the Road’ that was to be fronted by Brian Johnson of AC/DC. The original idea was that Brian would talk to a fellow musician about their thoughts of life on the road, focusing on one of their ground breaking tours. The hope was that’ Life on the Road’ would do for classic tours what the series ‘Classic Albums’ had done for, classic albums. The pilot episode featured Lars Ulrich, drummer with Metallica and we would focus on their 1991 ‘Nowhere to Roam’ tour. Sky Arts saw the pilot and subsequently commissioned a series. In the subsequent episodes the idea of focusing on one specific tour went out of the window, and Brian would talk to each of his guests about touring in general.
